This 2-week workshop takes a deep dive into the way our minds interprets what we see. Working with inanimate objects is important and will help you build foundational skills that translate into any genre you choose.
Gabriel will walk you step-by-step through exercises that will fine-tune your ability to see, teach you to measure shapes accurately and, ultimately, you will learn how to create beautiful still life paintings.

THE LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP
July 22 - August 2, 2024
Landscapes are emotive. We respond to perspective, composition, scale, color and value without even realizing it.
The challenge of creating beautiful landscapes lies in understanding the tools that get us there.
In this 2-week workshop, Gabriel will teach you how to transform vast, inspiring scenes into works of art on canvas.
He simplifies complex ideas, such as sunlight and shadow, atmosphere and the power of cool and warm colors. Bring the spaciousness of your world onto the canvas!

THE PORTRAIT WORKSHOP
August 19 - August 30, 2024
This workshop offers an intimate look into portrait painting, from understanding basic head proportions to refining the subject's unique features.
Gabriel will begin by exploring the structure of the face using volume and form. You will learn to depict the head accurately from various angles. He'll delve into the use of lighting and color for mood and address composition challenges like color harmony and background design.
The handling of facial features can either enhance or diminish a painting, as viewers naturally focus on faces. Gabriel will show you how to conquer this art world challenge and master portrait painting!

THE FIGURE WORKSHOP
September 16 - September 27, 2024
The figure has been at the center of the art world since the beginning of history. From cave paintings to anime, painting the figure has allows people to tell their most personal stories.
In this 2 week workshop, Gabriel will teach you how to see the figure in the abstract. He'll work from live models and demonstrate how to work from photographs and sketches, as well.
The workshop will focus on all of the important elements: lighting, poses, composition and more!

Meet Your Instructor:
Gabriel Lipper, a professional painter, exceptional instructor and founder of 8Paint Infinite Arts.
Years of suffering through the rigors of classical training, helped me to realize that art-making was bigger than 'getting it right", and didn't have to be so difficult to master. I've developed my own way of seeing. One that feels authentic to me and lights me up, from the inside out. It combines the traditional academic approach with my own contemporary style and love of painting. It's been a long road to get here but it doesn't need to take so much time.
Over the last 25 years working as a professional painter, and through much trial and error, I've discovered the specific tools and techniques necessary to build a strong foundation and inspire your inner confidence. It's from this place, that creative freedom, flow and transformation is achieved.
And this is why I created the Summer Workshop Series! I want to give you the lessons that took me years to learn and help catapult your art to new heights.
