I came looking to change up and be more confident in my personal expression, and I feel that I truly achieve this. As confirmation, and just to brag a bit, my pink saxophone player won an award in a local art show and actually sold!

THE STILL LIFE WORKSHOP
(June 24 - July 5)

This 2-week workshop takes a deep look at the way our eyes communicate with our mind. Working with inanimate objects allows us to leave some of our preconceived ideas about how things are "supposed" to look behind. This allows us to draw our subjects without bias.
We will work together, beginning with exercises for fine-tuning your ability to see and measure shapes accurately in relation to one another and create a still life step-by-step.
Even if you have worked with still life's in the past, this workshop will take your skills to the next level. Get ready to create a masterful still life!

THE LANDSCAPE WORKSHOP
(July 22 - August 2)

Painting landscapes connects us to the world beyond, transforming the vast, inspiring scenery into works of art on canvas. The study of sunlight and perspective enables us to capture the expanse of our environment in our compact painting.
Landscapes are emotive, influencing us through aspects like perspective, composition, scale, color and value. The challenge lies in structuring these elements into a compelling design. These complex notions are simplified in our video lessons, guiding you through creating stunning landscapes.
Learn to communicate the spaciousness of our world onto canvas!
THE PORTRAIT WORKSHOP
(August 19 - August 30)

This workshop offers a deep exploration of portrait painting, from understanding basic head proportions to refining the subject's unique features.
We'll explore perspective, teaching you to depict the head from various angles. We'll delve into the use of lighting and color for mood representation, distinguish gender and age cues in portraiture, and address composition challenges like background design.
The handling of facial features can either elevate or diminish a painting, as viewers naturally focus on faces. Let's conquer this art world challenge and master portrait painting together.

THE FIGURE WORKSHOP
(September 16 - September 27)

Painting the figure allows us to tell our most personal stories. From cave paintings to anime, the figure has been at the center of the art world since the beginning of history.
We will work with a live model (both nude and clothed) as well as photographs and sketches, seamlessly composing and merging them into intentional playgrounds.. The class will focus on all the important elements: lighting, poses, composition, and more!

I am only finishing Week 2 but I feel as though I have learned so much already and only half way there. I can’t wait to get through to the end and then start again with so much more knowledge and ideas…thank you Gabe for being such a fantastic teacher and so generous with sharing your skills… Best course I have ever been on by far…and believe me I have been quite a few….thank you a million.
SUSIE LIDDELL
I just have to say how much I Love Love Love the week 4 videos! They have inspired me, and see that I can get back from the frustration I was feeling with my choice of such a complicated reference. I was trying for perfection at too early a stage … now am ready to soldier on with enthusiasm… Thanks, Gabriel!
 SHRLEY SAR
Out of this world Gabe! I haven't gotten this far in the lessons, but it's really useful and Amazing to see these paintings in their final state. I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed this class. I've taken many wonderful classes through the years but this is the best. Really. Let that sink in as you get back to your other studio work. Somehow the stars lined up for me with this class. I have much to do now but I'm really excited to move forward. Thank you, thank you.
